I'll chime in here...I used this stuff called Blue-Job (www.blue-job.com) to remove bluing and gold coloration of the pipe. Check my link below to see before and after pics.

Hal's got a good point about rough and tumble looking bikes. They are cool. But I know a Harley guy, got pissed off when his new $18K Fatboy pipes blued right away. It's a preference thing.

Also, let's consider the bike itself. You can bet you'd see Sonny Barger on a *Harley with shiny pipes* before he'd ride on a Savage with gold and tough looking ones!

Give the stuff a try. If you like a shiny bike, keep the sweetheart shiny. You may sell it or trade it for a bigger bike someday, and "newness" sells to the Savage's target market.

Ride safe (and shiny if that's your thing!)
